New Administrative Associate for UEM's Purchasing Division

Loren Hinkle-Roberts was named as the new administrative associate for the Administrative Services section of our department. Loren has been a familiar face at Utilities and Energy Management (UEM) since November 2004 as the administrative assistant to Adriana Rojas and Ricardo Medina.
Prior to joining UEM, Loren worked at Southwest Orthopedic Group in the medical records section and in the university’s Payroll Office assisting in centrally billed airfare and scholarship and paycheck distribution.
Loren will now be assisting Ken Bonin, purchasing/contract manager, with purchasing orders for Mechanical Distribution and Electrical Distribution, as well as assisting him with other building-management matters.

Utilities and Energy Management's Water Recovery Program started in the early 1980s and has recycled more than 1.35 billion gallons of water to date, for a total savings of about $7.5 million.

UT Power Plant wins 2008 TEEA Award

On April 30, 2008, The University of Texas at Austin’s Power Plant was recognized by Governor Rick Perry and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Every spring, TCEQ honors citizens, organizations, communities, and others who have developed projects that protect our state’s natural resources.
Dr. Pat Clubb, vice president for Employee and Campus Services, and Juan Ontiveros, executive director of Utilities and Energy Management, accepted the Texas Environmental Excellence Award (TEEA) in the Large Business/Technical category for the university’s energy innovations.
