Mechanical Distribution

Special Events

Mechanical Distribution has a very wide range of responsibilities. We provide water, wastewater, storm drainage, deionized water, steam, natural gas and compressed air service to almost every building on the main campus. We design and install water recovery systems. We also assist contractors on construction jobs.

We regularly hold Continuous Improvement shop meetings because we want to provide the best service to all our customers... the students, faculty and staff of The University of Texas at Austin, and all the other taxpayers of Texas. Our goal is to provide utility service so reliably that you never even think about the work we do.

If you know of a source of uncontaminated water that is going down the drain, e.g., city water used to cool some laboratory equipment, please call us! If the amount of water makes recovery economically feasible, we will install a water recovery system FREE of charge to your department. Call Rusty at 471-5050 for more information.
