Our Services
Our Mechanical Distribution division has a Drafting Services section that provides the following services to the university community and contractors:
- Access to a complete library of “as built” records of on-campus buildings, as well as off-campus university facilities
- Viewing of utility composite drawings of specific areas—these are available upon request prior to excavations and construction
If you work for Utilities and Energy Management, you may request additional drafting services, including design, drafting, CAD graphics, surveying, property tracking, copying, scanning, and photography.
Request Scanned Building Files
Due to security concerns, access to the university’s building drawings is restricted under HB 9 of the Seventy-Eighth Legislature. As a result, copies of scanned files will be released only to university employees from Campus Planning and Facilities Management who need the information for ongoing and future projects.
To request copies of scanned building files, contact Bobby Cisneros, drafting supervisor, at 512-471-3757 for a building index. Please complete the request form using the building index and fax to UEM Drafting Services at 512-471-1727. If available, we’ll send the information to the address indicated in the request form. Note: All files are in PDF or TIF4 format. Also, remember that there are security considerations, and you’ll be responsible for any information you give to your client. Any other distribution of building drawings is not permitted without the express consent of the executive director of Utilities and Energy Management.
