Texas has a rich legal heritage that spans more than three centuries and has roots in both Spanish law and English common law, but this dimension of the state's history is relatively unexplored. The Texas Legal Studies Series focuses on this important area of study. Books in the series will examine a range of topics, including state-specific studies and those with a regional or national focus.
The first book in the series is Supreme Court Justice Tom C. Clark: A Life of Service, by Mimi Clark Gronlund. The second book is The Laws of Slavery in Texas, edited by Randolph B. Campbell, and is scheduled for Spring 2010.
