The Endorsed Wordmark
An endorsed identity structure is based on the concept that the individual
parts of an organization can express their unique identity, but also
are seen as part of a larger whole.
Simply put, by aligning the university wordmark with the wordmark of
a college, department, administrative unit or school, we are able to
visually show the relationship between the two organizations.
Our goal is to project the university as a multifaceted organization
with a sense of purpose. We want to allow the identities of the individual
colleges to flourish, while concurrently projecting a unified university
image. By using the endorsed identity system for the colleges, schools
and units, we can achieve this end.
The University of Texas at Austin wordmark should be used to endorse
colleges that are part of the university and that operate under their
own identities. The individual college wordmarks have been specially
drawn and spaced and must never be redrawn or changed in any way.
Examples of the endorsed wordmark. The mark may be positioned left,
right or centered depending on the need. Spacing and size of the university
wordmark are relative to the size of the college, school or units wordmark.
The university wordmark is half the height of the college, school or
units wordmark. The university wordmark is spaced a quarter of the height
of the college, school or units wordmark.

For the Colleges
The colleges may choose to employ a similar structure for linking their
departments to the college. Again, simply by aligning the college wordmark
with the wordmark of a department, administrative unit or school, the
colleges will be able to visually show the relationship between the
two organizations.
To further show the relationship among the departs, colleges and university,
the university wordmark should appear conspicuously on all college and
departmental communications.
