Graphic Elements
UT logos
The University of Texas at Austin interlocking "UT" logo
is an important element in our visual identity. The logo can be used
for a variety of application, including academic and athletic material.
Our national and international identity hinges on the words "The
University of Texas at Austin." Do not use the interlocking UT
or "T" logo when communicating to mixed or outside audiences.
Beyond our community of "insiders," this symbol is not well
or universally recognized and outside of Texas may be confused with
other institutions. When addressing internal audiences familiar with
the university, it is acceptable to use the interlocking UT or "T"
logo.
When reproduced in color the interlocking logo should always appear
in The University of Texas at Austin's signature color, burnt orange
(PMS 159). No other color is acceptable, with the exception of all black
for use on faxes, memos and in newspapers, and white for reverses on
dark backgrounds.
Graphic filters, such as dropshadows, bevels, 3-D effects, embosses
or glows should not be applied to thse logos. Any manipulation or alteration
is strictly prohibited. These logos are to be reproduced without modification.
