About the Office

The Office of the Vice President for Information Technology was created in 2001 with the mission to provide leadership for information technology at The University of Texas at Austin. The vice president/chief information officer (CIO) works with campus, community and corporate partners to build a shared vision in support of the university’s learning, research and public service missions. Specific focus areas include the promotion of best practices across the institution, facilitation of strategic vendor relationships and shared initiatives, and the development of a cost-effective, reliable and service-oriented technology infrastructure.

To meet this challenge, this office oversees three organizations tasked with the technology concerns of our campus:
