Information Technology Services Launches New Customer Focused Web Site
August 29, 2007
On Tuesday, August 21, 2007 Information Technology Services (ITS) launched the redesigned ITS Web site. For Brian Roberts, CIO and Vice President for Information Technology, this project was a priority in order to better present ITS products and services to the campus community. The new site is the result of almost a year’s worth of research, testing, and user feedback, as well as ongoing refinements. The goals of the project were to:
- Create a customer-focused site that represents a unified ITS organization
- Provide a user-centered and task-based architecture
- Ensure that information is current, accurate, usable, and findable
- Model best practices for Web and information management
In addition to an entirely updated look-and-feel, the Web site provides improved global navigation, new page layouts and enhanced accessibility.
Highlights of the new site include:
- Audience pages for students, faculty and staff with featured content and direct links to service and product information.
- Drop-down Login option on the home page for easier access to Web-based services like Outlook Web Access, Webmail and more.
- Service alert notices on the home page to highlight interruptions and indicate upcoming maintenance.
- Print Page and E-mail Page options.
- Tabbed navigation that makes information more visible and easier to find.
- Additional information in the right-hand column, including related resources, top support issues and more.
Explore the new Web site yourself and feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions. User feedback played an important role in developing the site, and your continued input will help us determine future improvements.
