Information Resources Use and Security Policy

14.1. To mitigate the risks associated with connecting to the Internet, all users of the university's network must adhere to prudent and responsible use practices as outlined in the Acceptable Use Policy and must ensure devices on the university's network comply with the Minimum Security Standards for Systems.

14.2. Users will adhere to the Minimum Security Standards for Data Stewardship regarding the secure transmission of Category-I data requiring confidentiality via public networks.

14.2.1. Users must encrypt all Category-I Digital Data transmitted over a network unless a specific exception has been filed with the Information Security Office.
