Established in 1986, AAALS is a scholarly organization with members on four continents. Its members share an interest in Australian and New Zealand literature and culture specifically, and postcolonial studies more generally. It publishes Antipodes, a journal of Australian literature and literary criticism, plus a newsletter, and it organizes an annual conference.
Established in 1980, ANZCA is dedicated to promoting scholarship in the field of communication by bringing together communication researchers and academics. ANZCA hosts an annual conference and publishes two journals: Media International Australia and Communication Research and Practice.
ANZSANA is a multidisciplinary academic association founded in 1989 with the aim to deepen the understanding about Australia and New Zealand in North America. It holds annual meetings during the North American spring semester where members present papers across a range of disciplines from History, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Literature, Economics, and Law. Its annual meetings convene an international group of academics, journalists, and diplomats who share research and discuss issues germane to Australia, New Zealand and the Indo-Pacific region as well as Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
APSA is the professional association for those teaching and researching in Politics and International Relations in Australia and is dedicated to promoting and facilitating work in the discipline. APSA hosts an annual conference which attracts national and international experts and provides a forum for Early Career Researchers and postgraduate students in the field. ASPA also publishes the Australian Journal of Political Science (AJPS).
EASA seeks to promote the teaching of and research in Australian Studies at European tertiary institutions, as well as to increase awareness of Australian culture throughout Europe. It also hosts biennial conferences and publishes the Journal of the European Association for Studies of Australia (JEASA).
InASA was formed in 1995 to recognize that Australian studies is an international enterprise with Australian studies centers and professional associations throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. It seeks to promote links between the Australian and international Australian studies communities and to lobby Federal and State governments to support the development of Australian studies internationally. InASA produces the Journal of Australian Studies, the premier Australian studies journal. It welcomes individuals, institutions, Australian studies centers and associations as members.
NZPSA is a collegial association of individuals that exists to promote and encourage the study of politics involving not just academics, but also students and practitioners, journalists and pollsters. The NZPSA is a constituent member of the Royal Society of New Zealand Te Apārangi, and holds an annual conference that welcomes a range of disciplinary perspectives to the study of political phenomenon.
WSSA is a group committed to multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary scholarship, service, and collegiality. The association's mission is to encourage multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary exchange and to foster professional study, advance research, and promote the teaching of the social sciences.
