Capstone Deadline Dates

Deadlines for each part of the Fall 2014 Capstone are listed below. Dates must be met by each student. There will be no exceptions made on deadlines.

Mandatory Orientation:
Friday, January 30 at 3:00 p.m. in MEZ 1.202

On the dates/times indicated below in FAC 211

Semester before

Student should be reading and taking notes for his or her Capstone topic; make initial contact with potential supervisor.

January 30

Students who are registered for or planning to register for EUS 375 must attend a mandatory orientation session.  The session will be held January 30th at 3:00 p.m. in MEZ 1.202

January 29

No application forms will be accepted after 3:00 p.m. on January 29th, the 8th class day. Students who have not submitted a completed and approved Proposal Form to the Center will not be able to register for the Capstone that semester.

On or Before
  January 30

Planned schedule of meetings with advisor must be turned into the Center in writing by your advisor if different than default (one hour per week.).

Friday, February 6

Mandatory Workshop #1:
  How to Write a Research Paper/Overview (Nothing Due)
  2:00 p.m. Undergraduate Writing Center (FAC 211)

All semester

The student is responsible for working independently and meeting with advisor according to the predetermined   schedule.

Thursday, February 12

Mandatory Workshop #2 Due: Annotated Bibliography and Working Outline
3:00 p.m. Undergraduate Writing Center (FAC 211)

Thursday, March 12

Mandatory Workshop #3 Due: Rough Draft of Paper
2:00 p.m. Undergraduate Writing Center (FAC 211)

March 12

Faculty Record Form #1 must be submitted to the Center (MEZ 3.304) by this date

By March 12

Confirm name of second reader and send information to Center.

Friday, April 3

Mandatory Workshop #4: Due: Working Draft of Paper (should be close to completion)
 2:00 p.m. Undergraduate Writing Center (FAC 211) 

April 10

Turn in a complete first draft to your advisor.

April 24

Turn in fully revised draft to both readers.

May 8

Turn in a copy of your final paper to your advisor and a copy to your second   reader. Also turn in one copy of your final paper along with your Faculty Record Form #2 to the Center. (Mezes 3.304) All papers must be turned in by 5:00 p.m. on this day.

Last Week of Classes
(May 4-8)

European Studies Capstone Presentations. Attendance is required and students must attend all presentations. Students present their research and conclusions to other European Studies students, CES faculty, and friends.
