Our Program

The Army ROTC program at The University of Texas at Austin is both challenging and rewarding. If you are attending Concordia University, Huston-Tillotson University, St. Edwards University and Austin Community College, you can join UT Austin AROTC. There is no commitment required for your first two years; you can try it out during your Freshmen and Sophomore years and gain some valuable skills at the same time. But if you're ready to commit to a challenging career, then an Army ROTC scholarship might be available for you! Our program offers opportunities to develop confidence, leadership, and life skills to succeed in college and beyond. It is an academic curriculum that supplements a student's major and is designed to prepare qualified, high-potential students for service as commissioned officers in the U.S. Army and its Reserve components (the Army Reserve and Army National Guard). Upon completion of the requirements for the baccalaureate or master's degree and military science training requirements, students are commissioned as second lieutenants. The Army ROTC at The University of Texas at Austin is an elective curriculum you may take along with your required college classes. It prepares you with the tools, training and experiences that will help you succeed in any competitive environment. Along with great leadership training, Army ROTC can pay for your college tuition, too. You will be able to have a normal college student experience like everyone else on campus, but when you graduate, you will be an Officer in the Army.  Army ROTC prepares college students to succeed in any competitive environment. The leadership training and experiences you have in the Army ROTC will provide you with a foundation to become commissioned Army Officers upon graduation. Upon completion of the Army ROTC program, you will be commissioned as a Second Lieutenants in the U.S. Army and will embark on specialized training.

Army ROTC is one of the Nation's top leadership programs, with many benefits to joining. Through Army ROTC you can:
