ID Cards and EIDs
As soon as you have your "high assurance" UT ID, you'll be able to take care of most of your UT business online with your EID without ever having to use the card or leave the comfort of your computer screen or mobile device. But bring it along with you hit the campus to get in the gym, check out library books, etc. The UT ID Center is located in the Flawn Academic Center (FAC) and is open 8:30-5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Enter the Flawn Academic Center, FAC, on campus between the Texas Union (UNB) on Guadalupe and the Main Building (MAI) ("The Tower"). Go through a second set of glass doors. The ID Center is at the left end of the Information Desk, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You must show a photo ID: either a driver's license or passport. A $10 fee will be charged for each ID card and must be paid within thirty days at the cashiers in MAI 8, or on the Web by going to the "What I Owe?" section of UT Direct.
The UT Shuttle bus system and the entire Austin City bus system, Capital Metro, are FREE with this UT ID card.
Lost/Stolen ID Cards
Individuals who have lost their University ID card or have had it stolen should report it IMMEDIATELY so that it can be deactivated.
There are two options for deactivating ID Cards:
During normal business hours, a lost or stolen ID may be reported by contacting the ID Center.
The ID card may also be deactivated at any time using the new Lost/Stolen ID Card Web Page.
After deactivating the lost or stolen ID, the card holder must come to the ID Center to reactivate the card, should it be found. Otherwise, a replacement ID card may be obtained at the ID Center during normal office hours. Photo identification (driver's license, passport, or government issued ID) is required. A $10 fee will be charged for all replacement cards.
