Graduate Student Marcos Perez Awarded NSF Dissertation Grant
Posted: February 3, 2014
Congratulations to our graduate student, Marcos Perez, for being awarded a full year of NSF Dissertation grant for his research in Buenos Aires!
Perez’s dissertation explores the practices that influence people’s experiences before, during, and after their involvement in collective actions. In particular, he seeks to discover and explain how some activists manage to overcome significant obstacles throughout movements, while others withdraw from the challenges. To further his research, the grant will support Perez’s research on the Piquetero movement in Argentina.
Kudos to Marcos for his outstanding success and award in an extremely competitive grant competition!
