Graduate Student Wins Dissertation Award

The Sociology Department is delighted to announce that graduate student Kate Averett has been awarded the prestigious Martin P. Levine Memorial Dissertation Award for her work in the sociology of sexuality.
The Levine Award was established to honor Martin Levine, who lost his life to AIDS in 1993. He devoted his career to the sociology of sexualities and HIV/AIDS research. Awarded by the Section on Sexualities of the American Sociological Association, Kate's work has proven to be of great significance to the field.
