The University of Texas at Austin holds rich and varied research resources for a wide range of fields.  These include extensive manuscript collections as well as print and secondary materials in seventeen libraries and archives that together constitute one of the great academic libraries in the world.

They include:

Perry-Castaneda Library

Extensive holdings, including a diverse set of special collections. Among the latter:

Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center

A wide ranging, internationally renowned archive comprising literature, art, visual culture, history, and the humanities in general.

Center for American History

Especially strong in Texas and Southern history, but with substantial collections in military history, business history, and the history of the media.           

Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection

One of the world’s foremost collections on Latin America.

Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library

Administered by the National Archives and Records Administration but located on the UT campus. Focuses on the life and political career of Johnson, but includes papers of Johnson’s associates and a very large oral history collection.

Jamail Center for Legal Research, Tarlton Law Library

Legal history, both American and international.

Fine Arts Library

Visual arts, music, theater, and dance.
