The Office of Research has made graduate students a cornerstone of our activities by collaborating closely with the Office of Graduate Studies and COLA Departments, Centers, and Programs.
Our office has established the Liberal Arts Graduate Student Advisory Council to weigh in regularly on important matters facing graduate students in the College. The members of the Council will coordinate efforts with the University-wide Graduate Student Assembly and the faculty Graduate Assembly.
Information is now available on our summer 2014 professional development course series for graduate students.
Faculty from across the College are offering courses on Public Scholarship, Dissertation Boot Camp, and Writing Skills.
A review of our current graduate student population for time to degree shows a pronounced reduction, across the college, in the number of students who are enrolled in doctoral programs beyond the sixth year. We recognize and appreciate the effort that went into this transformation, and applaud the faculty and staff involved in bringing it about.
