Follow this checklist to be sure you show up to orientation prepared. Completing the items on the list will assist you with the learning process and lead to a more worthwhile orientation.
Register for orientation.
Request test scores (AP, IB, etc.) and dual credit transcripts be sent to UT. Bring a copy of these with you to orientation, particularly if you suspect UT will not receive your scores/grades prior to your orientation date.
Review the degree plan for your declared major (or the general degree plan if you are undeclared) to get an idea of the university core requirements and the additional Liberal Arts Requirements.
Brainstorm some questions you want to ask your academic advisor. It is recommended that you write them down and bring them with you to your advising session. Learn more about advising.
Review First Year Interest Group (FIG) offerings. You may want to make a list of your favorite FIGs.
