Graduate Coordinator for Art Education, Design, and Studio Art
kt shorb is a theatre artist and has been a higher education administrator for over a decade. She has coordinated programs in diversity affairs, undergraduate curriculum development, advising, student organizations, and graduate affairs. She spent her childhood in Greater Boston, and her teenage years in Japan. She holds a bachelor's in Music Composition from Oberlin College Conservatory and a Master's in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin with research emphasis on Gender/Sexuality, Ethnic Studies, and Asian American Studies. She has taught at UT and Southwestern University. An award-winning performer, director, and writer, kt has presented work across the U.S., including at the Pulitzer Foundation in St. Louis, the Menil Collection in Houston, the University of Chicago, and the Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival. She is Producing Artistic Director for the Generic Ensemble Company, a group of mostly queer-identified, mostly people of color who make the invisible visible through bold, socially relevant, body-centered theatre.
