Department hosts activities during Explore UT

Join the Department of Art and Art History during Explore UT, the university's public open house, for two activities that are sure to excite and educate!

Steamroller Madness

Watch art being made using an industrial steamroller as a press to imprint Texas-size art patterns onto canvas. Presenters include faculty and students from UT, Austin Community College, St. Edward’s University and Texas State University.

Fun with Maya Pottery

Maya pottery plates were a very important part of Pre-Columbian Maya culture. Participants will have fun creating a Maya pottery plate on paper plates and learning about the Maya gods, symbols and hieroglyphs used in their pottery creations.
