Professor John Yancey will lecture at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center on May 22. Yancey will use his most recent body of work, Dueling Dualisms, where "references to African American quilt traditions and the complex image of the entertainer speak to the dueling realities of external image, inner-identity, and the survival of soul and dignity under the gaze and perils of an often hostile dominant culture."
