RESOLVED: University Wiki Service slow or unresponsive

The University Wiki Service slowness and unresponsive issues appear to have been mitigated with the changes implemented on March 17 and this alert is now closed. ITS will continue to monitor the service and to investigate additional areas for improved performance and stability.


8:50 PM 3/25/15
ITS staff implemented changes to the University Wiki Service last week for potential performance and stability improvements but continue to monitor the service for issues. The next update will be Mon., March 30.

The University Wiki Service continues to experience periods of slowness or unavailability. ITS staff have been testing potential improvements for performance and stability and plan to deploy the changes during the scheduled maintenance window on Tuesday, March 17. ITS will monitor the service for a week after implementing the changes and provide an update on Wednesday, March 25.

ITS staff continue to monitor the University Wiki Service and to investigate the root cause of the issues. The next update will be Friday, March 13.

The University Wiki Service continues to experience periods of slowness or unresponsiveness although these issues have been mitigated. ITS staff continue to investigate the root cause and to monitor the service. The next update will be Wednesday, March 11.

The University Wiki Service is still experiencing periods of slowness or unresponsiveness. ITS staff continue to monitor the service and investigate the issue. The next update will be Monday, March 9.

The University Wiki Service has been restarted and is currently available. ITS staff will monitor the service while continuing to investigate the cause of the outages.

As of approximately 1:35 PM, ITS Help Desk staff have observed that the University Wiki Service (wikis.utexas.edu) is either slow or unresponsive.

The problem with Gmail should be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.
This only affected IMAP connections to Gmail.
If you are still experiencing any issues, please reconnect your IMAP client.

We’re aware of a problem with Gmail affecting a significant subset of users. The affected users are able to access Gmail, but are seeing error messages and/or other unexpected behavior. We will provide an update by March 30, 2015 10:15:00 AM PDT detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change.
This is only affecting IMAP connections to Gmail.
