What is an EID class?

An EID class is a way to group affiliations that have similar characteristics. An EID's class represents the person's "closeness" to the university. A person EID can have exactly one class which is derived from the EID's closest active affiliation. The EID class affects how identity-related policies are applied e.g. password strength, EID upgrade.
