As part of the Web Central Services Retirement project, the ITS website will be retired. Information about IT services will be replaced by two new sites, IT@UT and UT ServiceNow, and ITS departmental information will be migrated to a new location. All changes will be completed by 7/28/2016.

Restoring Your Mailbox

If you have accidentally deleted messages, or even your entire mailbox, you may be able to restore these items. Your desktop support staff may be able to help you with these tasks.

Restoring Items from Your Computer

  1. Check your computer to see if you accidentally moved the missing items to another folder or archived them as a Personal Storage Table (.pst) file.

  2. Check to see if the missing items are in your Deleted Items folder.

  3. If the items are not in your Deleted Items folder it may still be possible to retrieve them using the Recovering Deleted Items feature in Outlook.

Note: If you use Entourage or some other email program, you can access this feature via Outlook Web App.

Note: ITS no longer creates time-based local backups for mailboxes. Please see the above steps to locate and restore messages and folders. If your mail client is configured to use the POP protocol, please resort to local computer backups to recover missing mail.
