SmartVoice Voice Mail (Retirement in Progress)

Canceling SmartVoice Service

To delete a SmartVoice mailbox, send the information below in an email to

  • Phone needing voice mail canceled
  • If known, the name and EID currently associated with the phone


  • If you plan to re-install voice mail on a line within the next 18 months, your department is better off not canceling current service. Re-establishing the mailbox later will automatically incur new installation and order charges equal to about 18 months worth of lease charges. You may instead want to reassign the mailbox as a non-EID departmental one until the new user arrives.

  • Please use an email signature with your (the orderer’s) name and phone number, in case we have questions about your order.
