2013-2014 LIFT Solicitation for Proposals

March 28, 2013

The Research and Educational Technology Committee (R&E) of the IT governance structure at The University of Texas at Austin is pleased to announce the beginning of the 2013-2014 Longhorn Innovation Fund for Technology (LIFT) request for proposals process. For fiscal year 2013-2014, R&E will allocate approximately $500,000 for innovative technology projects that support students and faculty.

LIFT grants are intended to be one-time seed money for innovative academic technology projects that leverage information technology to improve the quality of instruction for the University, attract high caliber students, and build stronger competitive advantages in sponsored research. While LIFT may be awarded to research projects, the research must be applied with near-term practical use and benefit at the University. Preference will be given to proposals that address significant campus needs in innovative ways. Requests should be in the range of $75,000 - $125,000.

The deadline for proposal submissions is Friday, May 3, 2013 at 5 p.m. Proposals should be submitted using the online LIFT Proposal Template.

Go to the LIFT website to learn more about proposal requirements, read FAQs about the process and view information about previous recipients.

Any UT Austin faculty or staff member is eligible to submit a project proposal. Please pass the word along to those who might be interested in submitting a proposal!
