    Assault & Flattery presents

To celebrate our diamond anniversary, A&F is bringing you our take on the revered classic, the story of Harry Potter. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Peregrinus, Harry and his motley crew of nerdy magic law students fight against the Slythegreens to secure the most desirable jobs that The Magic University of Texas Magic School of Magic Law can offer. Unfortunately, coming to the Slythegreens' aid is none other than Snemily Snadens, Voldemort's ally and the gatekeeper to the highly-sought-after judicial clerkships that all the magic law students sooooo covet. Only after watching the show will you discover who ultimately prevails in the job search! ...And also, who wouldn't want to see Assault & Flattery ruin another one of your favorite stories?

    Power and Accountability: Post 9/11

In a post-9/11 world, the War on Terror has raised a number of challenging issues for the U.S. Foremost among these issues has been the size and reach of executive power, and the 'creep' of national policy to the state and local levels. No topics better symbolize this dilemma of executive power facing the nation than the systematic use of torture under President Bush, the targeted killing drone program under President Obama, and the expansion of the drone program into the arena of domestic surveillance. Come and join Shahid Buttar as he discusses executive power and accountability through the prisms of torture and drones.

Shahid Buttar is the executive director of the Bill of Rights Defense Committee and the People’s Campaign for the Constitution. Mr. Buttar leads these groups’ efforts to defend civil liberties, constitutional rights, and rule of law principles threatened within the United States by law enforcement and intelligence agencies. A graduate of Stanford Law School, Mr. Buttar is a constitutional lawyer, grassroots organizer, independent columnist, musician, poet, and a leading national commentator on issues related to executive authority, transparency, and accountability.
