Texas Review of Entertainment & Sports Law's Annual Symposium: Fighting for Control in Entertainment & Sports

The Texas Review of Entertainment & Sports Law is hosting its annual symposium Friday, September 13 in the Eidman Courtroom. The event will take place from 9:00 to 4:00 with various panels and discussions taking place throughout the day. Topics include athletes asserting their trademark rights, athlete and league battles, crowdfunding in the entertainment industry, and the effect of streaming services on traditional media. Breakfast pastries will be served and lunch will be provided by Career Services.

Safe Homes: How to Address Austin's Dangerous Apartments

LBJ School of Public Affairs, Rm SRH 3.122

A discussion on what can be done to address unsafe living conditions at apartments across Austin. Following a presentation by a UT law student on recent reports examining national best practices for code enforcement and increasing safety in apartments, the panel will discuss what strategies should be adopted here locally. The panel will include a focus on two proposed rental registration ordinances coming before the Austin City Council on September 26th. This is the first event in a four-part Opportunity Forum series on Accessing Safe and Healthy Communities in Austin.

Registration: Attendance is free but seating is limited and an RSVP is required.
