The University of Texas participates in the National Student Clearinghouse and automatically verifies enrollment on the 12th class day of each semester.(4th class day in the summer) If your student loan servicer is requesting your enrollment status, inform them that the information is available at the National Student Clearinghouse. If your servicer still needs a deferment form processed, bring the Deferment or Enrollment Certification Form to The Law School Financial Office or to the Registrar’s Office during the first week of school. Complete the borrower information and write the semester for which you are requesting deferment in pencil on top of the form beforehand. The Law School Financial Aid Office will forward the form to the Registrar who will confirm your enrollment with your servicer after the twelfth class day of each semester or the fourth class day during summer. If you have private loans that require enrollment certification you must complete a separate Deferment or Enrollment Certification Form.
