Free Screening of All the Presidents Men with Introduction and Q&A with Former Washington Post Executive Editor Leonard Downie

The Center for Politics and Governance at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, the School of Journalism and KLRU-TV will present a special screening of “All the President’s Men” with an introduction by Leonard Downie, former executive editor of the Washington Post. The screening will be followed by a Q&A discussion with the audience led by Leonard Downie.
The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. in the CMB Studio 6A located in the Jesse H. Jones Communications Building B on The University of Texas at Austin campus.
Downie was the executive director of the Washington Post for 17 years. He first joined the Washington Post as an intern in 1964. Downie worked on the Post's Metropolitan staff as a reporter and editor for 15 years, and ran the staff as Assistant Managing Editor for Metropolitan news from 1974 until 1979. As Deputy Metropolitan Editor, Downie supervised much of the Washington Post's Watergate coverage.
"All the President’s Men" is a 1976 Academy-Award winning political thriller based on the 1974 non-fiction book of the same title by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, the two Washington Post journalists who investigated the Watergate scandal.
