GOVERNING Magazine, in partnership with the Center for Politcs and Governance at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, will present "GOVERNING Texas: A Leadership Forum" on Sept. 7 at the Hyatt Regency in Austin.

This leadership forum will offer public leaders an opportunity to examine the challenges – and opportunities – involved in governing in the 21st century. The forum will be a highly interactive format, created by and for Texas state and local government leaders.

The day-long forum will include a morning keynote address by Adam Schrager, journalist and author of "The Principled Politician -- A Story of Courage."  Neil Howe, Founding Partner and President of LifeCourse Associates will deliver the lunch-time keynote address.

Additionally addresses and panels will cover implications of the Texas state budget, the business of government, and staffing of government in light of the predicted "Boomer Retirement Wave."

This event is free and open to the public but registration is required. For more information on this event and to register, please visit: http://www.governing.com/events/GOVERNING-Texas-A-Leadership-Forum-2011.html
