Four Graduate Students Win at 2024 Empower Your Pitch Competition

On April 11, 2024, four graduate students took home awards at The University of Texas at Austin's inaugural Empower Your Pitch competition. The top three award winners will receive a funded trip to Washington, D.C. to celebrate and perform, and compete with winners from Johns Hopkins University.

A discovery by Jackson School of Geosciences doctoral student Eric Hiatt shows that no matter how much rainfall fell on the surface of ancient Mars, very little of it seeped into an aquifer in the planet’s southern highlands.

Jackson School Grad Students Win Outstanding TA Awards

Feb. 15, 2024
Three Jackson School students – Eric Hiatt, Sinjini Sinha and Travis Stone – were among the 14 teaching assistants to be honored in January by the National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT). The Jackson School winners are all doctoral students in the school’s Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences.

The Graduate School announces the establishment of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs within the Graduate School’s portfolio at UT Austin. The new office will work to support the development and success of postdoctoral scholars across the University during their time on the Forty Acres.
