Professor Browne's book-length manuscript in preparation, Dark Matters : Surveillance, Technology and Race, examines surveillance with a focus on biometrics, airports and borders, slavery, black mobilities and creative texts. Professor Browne is currently working on a co-edited collection with Dr. Shoshana Magnet titled Feminist Surveillance Studies. Dr. Browne is co-editing (with Dr. Ben Carrington) a special issue of Qualitative Sociology on 'The Obamas and the New Politics of Race'.
