Dr. Hughes' research and teaching focuses on teacher learning and technology integration in preservice (learning to become a teacher) and inservice (a current teacher teaching in a school) contexts. Her current work examines content-based approaches to educational technology instruction and inquiry approaches to professional learning. Nested within these strands, she also focuses attention on issues related to technology leadership. She currently has research projects that involve iPad integration in a high school, technology use in a university teacher education program, and technology use in 4 middle schools.
