Professor Strong began his teaching career at the University of Virginia School of Law, where he taught for seven years, and has been a Visiting Professor at a number of law schools across the nation, including UCLA, Cornell, George Washington, Wake Forest and the University of Richmond. He was voted Professor of the Year for 2017-18, and again for 2018-19, at the University of Texas School of Law. He was also named Professor of the Year at the University of Santa Clara School of Law, was runner-up for Professor of the Year honors at UCLA, and is a two-time recipient of the Award for Excellence in Teaching at the University of San Diego School of Law. He chaired the AALS Section on Clinical Legal Education, and proposed and initiated the formation of the independent Clinical Legal Education Association (which now has more than 1300 members). Before beginning his teaching career, Professor Strong was a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Virginia, an E. Barrett Prettyman Fellow at Georgetown University Law Center, and served both as a Special Assistant United States Attorney and as a criminal defense attorney in the District of Columbia. Professor Strong teaches and writes in the fields of Evidence, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Professional Responsibility.
