Research Interests

My current research focuses on elevating student voice, particularly the voices of students historically excluded from higher education, to increase student success. My work approaches student voice from two separate, yet complimentary approaches: comprehensive survey research and qualitiative research. Through the SERU Consortium survey work, I examine the experience of students at large research universities via large census surveys, with a recent focus of the impacts of COVID on student success. My qualitative work on student belonging complements the themes that emerge from the survey data by elevating the stories and lived experiences of students as they navigate pandemic-era campuses and seeking their belonging.
