Auditory Cognition and Speech Perception Laboratory
Research Unit Profile
This lab is devoted to understanding how people perceive speech. The current focus is at the level of the phoneme. They use various methods to achieve this goal; including acoustic analysis of natural speech, perceptual identification and discrimination of synthetic speech sounds, perceptual identification and discrimination of non-speech sounds, and the representation of speech sounds in computer models of the auditory nerve.
