What is the Center for Identity?

The Center for Identity leverages the depth and breadth of expertise throughout The University of Texas at Austin to address the challenge of positively identifying individuals. Given that identity theft is the fastest growing type of fraud in the United States, understanding the potential risks, including the tactics and resources that criminals use to steal your personal identifiable information, and ways to help prevent such risks, is at the heart of The Center for Identity's operations. The Center is organizationally positioned at UT to conduct multi-disciplinary research on all critical facets "identity" – including engineering, science, business, public policy, law, cultural studies, and social studies.

What is the Center looking for?

The Center is looking for two additional information modelers to join the threat squad, a team of undergraduate students or information analysts, who help facilitate the contribution of data to an analytical repository of threats and counter measures (i.e., measures to protect, secure, and mitigate).

Qualifications

You must be currently enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin. Though it is not required, it is preferable that you are enrolled for both the fall and spring semester.
You must be able to work 20 hours/week.

Required qualifications:
Experience working as a member of a team and communicating to team members. Creative problem solving skills. Attention to detail. Analytical skills. Able to stay focus and on task. Organizational skills.

Duties

The key functions for this role are as follows:
* Read through news stories
* Summarize stories in your own words and clarify sequence of steps in story
* Categorize information into actions within software tool and database
