Center for the Skills & Experience Flags

The Center for the Skills & Experience Flags (CSEF) in the School of Undergraduate Studies provides resources and support for the general education shared by all undergraduates at The University of Texas at Austin. Our goal is to facilitate delivery of the curriculum that helps our students become critical thinkers and informed, broadly educated citizens.

Upcoming Deadlines

Spring Writing Flag Faculty Retreat

8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 9 and Tuesday, May 10, 2016

Faculty teaching, or preparing to teach, Writing Flag courses are invited to participate in a two-day workshop, May 9-10. Participants will receive $1000 in the form of professional development funds.

School of Undergraduate Studies Writing Flag Contest

The first annual Writing Flag Award honors the best writing produced by UT undergraduates in courses carrying the Writing Flag. For full contest rules, submission guidelines, and other information, please see our contest page.

Cultural Diversity/Global Cultures Flags Faculty Workshop

8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016

Faculty teaching or preparing to teach Cultural Diversity Flag and Global Cultures Flag courses are invited to participate in a one-day workshop on May 23, 2016. Participants will receive $500 in the form of professional development funds.
