CDT Cory Scanlon contracts with Longhorn Battalion

On Tuesday, 30 August 2005, the Longhorn Battalion contracted a new cadet. CDT Cory Scanlon was sworn in by MAJ John Fitzgerald.

As a cadet in the Longhorn Battalion, Mr. Scanlon will be trained as a future leader of tomorrow. CDT Scanlon, an Austin native, graduated from Westwood High School and intends to earn a degree in Government from the University of Texas. He is also contemplating a minor in Psychology.

CDT Scanlon has aspirations of branching Aviation with an ultimate goal of being a helicopter pilot. Ask him why he wishes to be a part of the Longhorn Battalion, and he will tell you, "I joined Army ROTC because I want to serve as an officer in the United States Army."
