Katherine McKittrick teaches and researches in the areas of black studies, cultural geography and gender studies. Her research examines questions of social and spatial justice in creative texts (musics, fiction, poetry), as well as the work of Sylvia Wynter. Katherine authored Demonic Grounds: Black Women and the Cartographies of Struggle, (Minneapolis: University of Minnesota Press, 2006) and co-edited Black Geographies and the Politics of Place.
