Melissa Humphries is a Ph.D. candidate in the department of Sociology. Melissa's broad research interest centers around the sociology of education and the transition to adulthood, focusing on the stratification of returns to education. Currently Melissa is exploring the stratification of the effects of educational attainment on health outcomes in young adulthood. She is interested in the stratification of these outcomes across race, gender and immigrant status.
Ms. Humphries' current research is based upon work supported by the NICHD Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award under Grant No. T32 HD007081-34.
