CMAS Honors Colloquium

The Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS) is pleased to host a public colloquium for undergraduates participating in the Honors Program in Mexican American Studies.

Alma Buena, the title of her presentation is "Sovereign Women, Sovereign Nations: Native Women and the Fight for Citizenship Recognition in the Lakota Nation." Her honors thesis is being supervised by Dr. Nicole Guidoitti-Hernández, Associate Professor in the Department of American Studies and Associate Director of the Center for Mexican American Studies.

Jonathan Cortez, the title of his presentation is "Occupying La Lomita: Claiming Chicano Space and Identity in Robstown, Texas." His honors thesis is being supervised by Dr. Emilio Zamora, Professor in the Department of History.

Sergio Ramirez, the title of his presentation is "Privilege and Difference: The Bad Jotos Club." His honors thesis is being supervised by Dr. Nicole Guidoitti-Hernández, Associate Professor in the Department of American Studies and Associate Director of the Center for Mexican American Studies.
