2007 Folklore/Public Culture Proseminar
Posted: April 10, 2007
Starting in the Fall of 2007, the Program in Folklore and Cultural Studies is instituting a new proseminar with the goal of enhancing ties between students of different cohorts and the various affiliated faculty. The focus of the seminar will be on considering works in progress by FPC faculty here at UT and by students in the process of writing their dissertations. Additionally, the seminar will feature short selected readings on weeks when there is no scheduled speaker. The goals of these readings will be to spark a conversation over new and emerging directions in cultural studies research. New students will be required to take this seminar as well, with the aim of more effectively introducing them to the program.
As Graduate Advisor I want to encourage all FPC students to consider taking this seminar. For more information, contact John Hartigan, either by email (hartigan@mail.utexas.edu) or by phone.
