Dr. Ute Huesken from the University of Oslo, Norway, has done field work at South Indian temples for more than ten years. Her second book, "Visnu's Children: Prenatal life-cycle rituals in South India" (2009) analyzes specific ritual traditions observed at those temples. She is also the editor of "When Rituals Go Wrong: Mistakes, Failure, and the Dynamics of Ritual" (2007) and co-editor of a number of other relevant books on ritual.
