Janice Leoshko, Associate Professor of Art History, specializing in Asian Art, has received the Departmental Teaching Excellence Award from the Department of Art and Art History for the 2005 -2006 academic year. This is a student nominated and peer reviewed award sponsored by the College of Fine Arts Dean's Office.
Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to submit a nominating essay for any instructor with the academic rank of Senior Lecturer or higher. The nominations are reviewed by department peers and administrators and then submitted to the dean's office for final approval. The fact that students, faculty peers, and administration all have a voice in deciding this award speaks to its honor. Recent courses Dr. Leoshko has taught include: Buddhist Art, Gandharan Art, Reviewing Indian Art Exhibitions and The Taj Mahal/Diversity in Indian Art.
Congratulations Dr. Leoshko!
