Vol. 3 of History Department Alumni Newsletter published
The newest edition of the History Department Alumni Newsletter highlights the achievements and honors of faculty from the past year and recognizes both former faculty and distinguished alumni.
Stories on special events of the past year include the Normandy Scholar Program's 20th anniversary with testimonials from alumni, and the Regional Conference hosted by the Beta Alpha chapter of Phi Alpha Theta. Also included is Commencement 2009, with a summary of the commencement address by actor Paul Bartholomew who encouraged students to follow a path that "brings joy and meaning to your life."
There is a complete list of recently published books by the faculty for alumni to catch up on their favorite professors' latest research findings, a four-page layout of faculty who have won awards, and an update on the happenings at the Institute for Historical Studies.
Alumni and friends are invited to view the entire newsletter, which can be downloaded as a PDF to catch up on what has been happening at the department.
If you would like to be added to the mailing list or would like to consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Department of History, please contact the Assistant Dean for Development Kathleen Aronson by email or phone 512-475-9763. In addition, alumni can make a secure online donation at the Giving to History page of the department website.
