Thomas Leddy-Cecere

, University of Texas at Austin

I was born and (proudly!) raised in Strafford, Vermont.  I completed my B.A. at Dartmouth College, where I graduated in 2010 with a double major in Linguistics and Arabic Language & Literature.  Following my graduation, I worked in Dartmouth's Hopkins Center for the Arts as a producer and manager of student ensembles.  During that time, I also continued to work with Dartmouth faculty on research examining the dialectology of Vermont and New Hampshire.  I arrived at the University of Texas at Austin in the fall of 2011 to begin work on a Ph.D. in Arabic linguists, focusing on sociolinguistics and dialectology.

Sociolinguistics, dialectology, historical linguistics, language contact, pidgin and creole languages; Arabic, North American English
