Courses and degrees are offered in the following disciplines through both the Center for and Department of Middle Eastern Studies. Prospective students may also review the application instructions.

Overview:  Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures (Department of MES)

          Teaching Arabic as a Foriegn Language (TAFL) - ADMISSION CLOSED FOR 2015-16 year

          1.  Arabic Linguistics (theoretical & applied) - ADMISSION CLOSED FOR 2015-16 year

          2.  Middle Eastern Literatures/Cultures (Arabic, Persian, Hebrew literature & cultures)

          3.  Islamic Studies

          4.   Hebrew Bible/Ancient Near East - Please note that Professors Huehnergard and Hackett will

                      not serve as the primary dissertation supervisors for students admitted for fall 2015

                       and later. However, Professors Pat-El and Kaplan will continue to serve as dissertation

                       supervisors.
