Language development in young children can be affected when parents tweet or text rather than talk with their kids. In a story reported on KXAN Austin News, developmental psychology professor Catharine Echols points out that “The best language learning happens with focused interaction between the child and adult,” and that "“In that interaction, parents should be talking about what the child is interested in.
